Solar PV Quality Control – Lidl GB
MawGreen Ltd supports Lidl GB as their appointed Solar PV Quality Control Consultant across new store developments throughout Great Britain.
We carry out independent inspections on every solar PV installation installed on Lidl’s new store projects, helping ensure systems are installed safely and to the required standards during construction.
This role reflects MawGreen’s specialist knowledge of solar PV installations and demonstrates our detailed technical expertise in the sector.

Pre-Construction / Design Review
– Review of PV layouts, string design and equipment selection
– Verification against specifications and project requirements
– Identification of risks, clashes and coordination issues
First Fix Inspection (Roof Works)
– Mounting system installation and layout compliance
– Module spacing, edge distances and maintenance access
– Cable routing, containment and roof penetrations
– General workmanship and installation quality
Second Fix Inspection (Internal Works)
– Inverter installation and positioning
– AC/DC cabling, containment and labelling
– Fire stopping and integration with building services
– Compliance with design and specifications
Commissioning & Witnessing
– Review of test results (Voc, Isc, insulation resistance, polarity)
– Verification of system operation and installation condition
– Identification of non-conformities prior to handover
Final Compliance & Sign-Off
– Review of all outstanding items
– Verification of documentation and certification
– Independent assessment prior to project completion
Detailed Audit & Reporting
MawGreen utilises a structured audit system to record, track and report on all aspects of PV installation quality.
Each project is assessed across multiple stages, generating detailed reports including:
– Scored compliance across installation phases
– Photographic evidence
– Identification of defects and non-conformities
– Clear actions required prior to sign-off
